Well, we got the boys their first puppy today! Here are a couple pictures of John and me with her. Any suggestions for names?

Well, I had a dog named Bubba and she was the best dog ever! I also had a dog named Abi and she was a really great dog too!

She is a cross tween a who's it and a whats it. I think every boy needs a good mutt to pal around with. She's got small feet so I don't think she'll be to big. Some little kid with a cardboard sign and a cage FULL of puppys was standing by the road side. He stood there all day. I couldn't help myself!

I like Bubba, but round here if I stood outside yelling Bubba many trailer doors would open. I can just picture half the population of Naticoke standing in the yard hollorin' "What!" :)

OOH OOH OOH! How exciting! Finally, Leah isn't the only girl in the house! I can't wait until we can have a place and get our very own dog! The boys must be THRILLED!

As far as suggestions for names go-why dont you pick the coolest name from the bible that you would never dare to name your kid? Maybe...Dorcas. hehehehehehehehehhehe
Some day when we get a dog, we are going to name it Jedidiah.

A girl dog named Bubba? Now y;all know that just ain't right!

I think she needs a suitably Reformed name. You could call her Reformed Farmer's Dog, in keeping with the blog theme. RFD for short...pronounced Arfdee. Or Tulip might work for a smallish canine specimen. Or perhaps something historical: Katy (for Mrs. Luther) or Idelette (for Mrs. Calvin...Letty for short) or Jenny (for Jenny Geddes).

Honestly, I've talked to John about naming a boy Jedediah if God gives us one in the future. Thank goodness Asher Gilchrist is first on the list. (Don't you dare name that pup Asher Gilchrist, or you'll see nary an Owen for some time.)

Following the theological and historical theme, you could name her Abigail, honoring the wife of the respected Reformed theologian John Owen. (Hmm...or is that the respected Prison Librarian John Owen?)

You chose well, boys! She is a beautiful pup, spilling over with caramels and cream.

She does look like one of those caramel candies with the cream center. There's another idea: Caramel...Carrie for short.
